Welcome to our new traditional Teddy Bear Kits page, we have just a few kits available at the moment but more will be added in time. Since taking over Norbeary fabrics in 2007 we are now able to supply the mohair to make up the kits. If you would prefer another type of mohair to be included with the kit that's no problem just let us know and we'll tell you how much the kit will cost. You can see the mohair available by clicking here which takes you to the Norbeary Fabrics website. You can also purchase a variety of patterns on their own on the Norbeary Fabrics website.
Each kit includes a piece of traditional mohair, together with matching paw pad material, shoe button eyes and nose threads. They come complete with patterns and full instructions, with diagrams for the trickier bits. You need to have or buy, needles, you'll need some longer doll maker's needles for putting the eyes in and we use longish (size 18) darners for sewing the nose, sewing thread and stronger button thread to match the colour of the mohair, plus stuffing material usually polyester and pellets, and the joints, I can supply some of these things if you get stuck, I don't include them as you my have them already and it would just put the cost up unnecessarily.

The Bentley Bear Teddy Bear kit is a kit we designed for Dempsey Designs, it comes in a beautiful presentation box and includes nearly everything you need to make an heirloom teddy bear; the pattern and instructions, mohair, eyes, nose thread, paw material, polyester stuffing and pellets, an embroidery needle and a doll maker's needle and button thread, you just need sharp scissors and the time and enthusiasm to make him. It makes an ideal present or a great starting point for making a tradtional teddy bear, like all our traditonal bear kits he can be machine or hand sewn and is something you can do sitting watching the TV, or on a boring train journey, just about anywhere where you can sit down in the warm and dry, even on a hot, palm fringed beach with the waves lapping at your feet.
